Copper plate etching to create text in Photoshop

Introduced the use of Photoshop, the text depicts the detailed steps etched copper plate. Are relatively simple, but the effect was great. Photoshop will be used during the ramp and the relief layer effects, layer overlapping mode, and to combine many different skills, so that text and background to become seamless.

Complete results are as follows.

Copper is a great metal. It is very tough but very high plasticity. In addition, when you design or the old 90's style pictures of paragraph or page, the copper texture is a great choice. Then the following can help you simply and effectively in your text or graphics which added unique effect.

First in Photoshop to create a 1024 ? 768 pixels, the background is black paper. Then you want a good picture of what should be written on the location. Write your text, I used Rockwell font, you can also use other fonts.

Now let us see next layer of these very creative style. Good idea to add a gradient overlay to meet the scene illumination. This case, we added five color gradient (# 000000, # 160700, # 783501, # 421F01, # 050505) angle of 140 degrees. When you join after basic slope style, select the contour line option, select the Gaussian distribution, 50% range, select the texture options, read the Photoshop default pattern, select the “rusty metal” texture.

Hold down the Ctrl click the “Copper” layer to select text. Select> modify> contract, set to four pixels (the size of the gradient strokes) after the click OK.

Create a new layer, named “internal effect.” Black (# 000000) fill constituency. After setting as shown below in light and gloss. Degree of the layer fill to 0%

Copy “Copper” layer, rename a copy of the “Text shadow”, after a copy of deleted or hide all layer styles, then select Layer> grid of> text. Copy on the “Copper” under layer, and then temporarily hide “Copper” layer. On the “Text shadow” layer using Filter> Fuzzy> Motion Blur. Finally, once again show “Copper” layer, select the “Text shadow” layer and wipe off the excess top and right side of the shadow.

Now add some lighting effects. Use the rectangle tool in the “Light” layers parallel to the rectangle to draw four or five. Merge them, and hold down the Ctrl click the corner of deformation, (Translator's Note: Here a new layer of painting, and use the Free Transform Ctrl + T) as shown below. Next, using the Gaussian blur (radius of 10 pixels). Finally, the “Ligh stripes” of mixed-mode to overlay layers, layer opacity 50%. (Translator's Note: the original author used in the map features smart objects, can not use.)

Hold down the Ctrl click the “Light stripes” layer thumbnail and then select the “Text Shadow” layer, delete selected parts.

Improved lighting effects. Once again hold down the Ctrl click “Copper” layer, but this time with a white to black (# FFFFFF to # 000000) symmetric gradient fill to the “Light” layer under a new layer. Finally, change mixed mode to overlay, layer opacity 25%.

The final details of the modification, at the top to add a texture layer, in this case, I joined this long paper style, and change mixed mode to Multiply, opacity 50%.

Last point prompts, you can use this effect in other fonts or images on. If you want to use it on some smaller things, it is best to build a big point of the pattern or the text and then convert it to a smart object, and finally to change its size. So you can keep the integrity of this effect.
